First Perch

Backyard Poultry
Little Climber
Would you try climbing up on a ledge twice your height when you were only four days old? It’s a new adventure for these chicks! As admirers stand by, Snowflake the Barred Rock hops bravely to the top of this little wood roost—and soon others follow the example. What little acrobats!

Where did you get all the wood shavings? Did you make the perch?

It's amazing how even as chicks, they insist on climbing up on things!

Yes, I glued small pieces of wood together to make the perch. These woodchips are from our local feed store; however, I now get them from my dad's woodworking shop. This saves me a lot, as they're expensive to buy.
